I have spent my life living back and forth between Canada and France and feel at home in both countries. I stumbled on to your blog last week, and although I have never been to Vancouver or Paris, your descriptions really make the cities come alive.
I can understand your relief and appreciation for you Home after being away for so long. There is no-one that loves you the same way as family, and no place to belong, like any place that you call home.

Raj- Thank you. I'm full of heartache, but heartwarming moments as well...so they even each other out.
Eurobrat- Have an amazing time...it really is too bad we couldn't have met up in Paris. But we'll always have Toronto.
thestraightpoop- I have a wedding on Saturday night, but if I'm not dying from a hangover the next day I'll be there!

I've stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago and have made it a part of my morning routine-brew a cup of chai and check out what Gill is up to today. Perhaps communication in this medium is even more enhanced because of the acute lack of most sensory stimuli-olfactory, auditory... when we take away what we can not see, our true visions bravely stagger out...
Vancouver is really beautiful...reminds me of Seattle. (I miss the west coast...)
